MIAMI-DADE COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF CULTURAL AFFAIRS ANNOUNCES THE RELEASE OF GRANT GUIDELINES AND DEADLINE SCHEDULE FOR THE 2015-2016 SPRING CYCLE
 
Schedule of Mandatory Grant-Specific Workshops also Available
 
Grant guidelines, deadlines, and workshop/consultation schedules are now available for the fiscal year 2015-2016 spring cycle of Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs grants programs.
 
Guidelines containing eligibility requirements and other detailed program criteria can be accessed at www.miamidadearts.org by clicking Grants/Grants for Organizations or by clicking on the individual grant program links below. Information can also be requested by calling the Department of Cultural Affairs at (305) 375-4634, or via email at culture@miamidade.gov.
 
Application forms will be available beginning February 2, 2015 (Major Cultural Institution MCI applications will be available beginning January 12, 2015).
 
2015-2016 DEADLINES FOR SPRING CYCLES:
 
ANNUAL OPERATING SUPPORT PROGRAMS
Provides stable and substantial operational funding to support the annual operations of and programming provided to the community by Miami-Dade's largest, exemplary cultural organizations.
 
Provides significant operational funding support and technical assistance to a designated group of Miami-Dade County's mid to large size, artistically excellent and culturally diverse performing, visual, literary and presenting arts organizations engaged year-round in the creation or presentation of art.
 
Provides funding support to non-profit organizations presenting major annual festivals and special events in Miami-Dade County which have an established reputation for excellence and credibility, are capable of attracting visitors on regional, national and/or international levels, and have a significant and positive impact on the perception of Miami-Dade County as a dynamic cultural community.
 
Provides operational funding support to small and mid-sized, semi-professional and professional organizations whose primary mission is the year-round creation, presentation, exhibition or performance of cultural activities.
 
 
YOUTH ARTS PROGRAMS
Provides operational funding support to non-profit youth arts organizations having a year-round presence in Miami-Dade County, whose primary mission is to create, present or exhibit cultural programs for and/or with children and youth.
 
Provides programmatic support to organizations whose programs enrich the lives of children through the arts by making the arts available to more children and families throughout Miami-Dade County, whereby, children will have opportunities to have positive live arts experiences through arts instruction;  arts intervention;  healing/expressive arts;  in-school performances;  or public performances/exhibitions.
 
CULTURAL FACILITIES PROGRAMS
Provides funding support to non-profit cultural organizations for capital improvement projects that are designed to expand, renovate, construct, and/or equip cultural facilities located within Miami-Dade County. Programs in facilities for which grants have been provided must be ADA accessible and promoted to the general public.
 
OUTREACH PROGRAMS
Provides funding to promote and help pay for arts program ADA/access technology and services, such as American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters, captioning, audio description, materials in accessible format, ADA/access training, and other such services to ensure programmatic access for audiences of all abilities.
 
Provides programmatic funding support to Miami-Dade County-based professional cultural organizations to support meaningful artistic exchange, partnerships or collaborations with professional artists, arts professionals and/or organizations abroad.
 
PRE-GRANT SUBMISSION WORKSHOPS / CONSULTATIONS:
All applicants (both new and returning) are required to schedule a pre-grant submission consultation and/or attend a program-specific workshop.  Refer to the individual grant program guidelines to determine your specific workshop/consultation requirements.
 
All applicants must be registered as a Culture Grants Online (CGO) user in order to apply for Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs grants programs.  Workshops on registering and using the CGO grant system are now incorporated as part of each grant-specific workshop/consultation. 
 
First-time applicants and/or new staff members who are unfamiliar with the Department's CGO grants system must schedule an in-person consultation and/or plan on attending the first-time user portion of the grant-specific workshop, as noted in the guidelines and workshop schedule.
