Panel To Discuss First Round Investment Valuations
Join us on Wednesday, December 12th from 5:15pm to 8:30pm at the Embassy Suites in Boca Raton for the Gold Coast Venture Capital Association's Panel Discussion. The topic is First Round Investment Valuations, as understanding valuation is critical to successful investing and for the entrepreneur. The objective of this month’s presentation and ensuing panel discussion is to demystify the valuation process and facilitate a common ground upon which productive discussions can occur and the issues of value resolved. The guest speaker is Ravi Ugale, who has 23 years of total investment and operations experience. The discussion will be moderated by Mr. David Bates, who holds a J.D. from Tulane University, a M.B.A. from Tulane University and B.S.B.A. from University of Florida.

It's All About the Data Comes To Boca
Join us on Thursday, January 10th, 2008 in Boca Raton for an It's all about the Data presentation by David Cobb. Our Data expert, Dave, takes a look at the new Data paradigms introduced with the .Net Framework 3.5. This new paradigm is centered around the use of the .Net Language INtegrated Query or LINQ. LINQ defines a set of general purpose standard query operators that allow traversal, filter, and projection operations to be expressed in a direct yet declarative way in any .NET-based programming language. It opens up a whole world of programming for data manipulation. The event will be followed by a raffle of Visual Studio and SQL Server.

Oracle 2008 Predictions By Stefan Tornquist

Monster online jobs index drops five points
The Monster Worldwide Inc. employment index fell five points in November to 183 from October's reading of 188 amid a broad decline in online job availability. This suggests that a two-year low in consumer confidence amid greater economic uncertainty is making employers more cautious about their near-term hiring plans.
Unemployment claims fall 15,000
In the week ended Dec. 1, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 338,000, a decrease of 15,000, or 4.2%, from the previous week's revised figure of 353,000. The four-week moving average was 340,250, an increase of 4,750 from the previous week's revised average of 335,500.
