SFTA Goes Green With Leaders From Top S. Florida Companies
Join us on Thursday, February 26th in Ft. Lauderdale as Technical leaders tell their stories in response to your questions on how to manage adoption of emerging technologies. "Green" has certainly become a major theme in the past year as energy costs roller coaster up and down along with the secondary affects these costs have on the products and services we use. Our culture has shifted as people and corporate responsibility focuses more and more on the impact we have on the environment.
This program, moderated by Albert Maggio of Merrill Lynch, brings together various perspectives on Green technology. Should your company "Go Green"? This is one of the first "can't miss" events of 2009. See you there!
1st Prize: The Remote Controlled Hovering Space Surfer
Indoor or Outdoor hovering coolness
This is the remote controlled 9" space surfer that hovers in the air, spins 360°, and moves left, right, and forward--all while levitating parallel to the ground. Capable of indoor or outdoor flights, the space surfer has dual propellers that generate enough thrust to send the device from a stationary position without requiring a hand-launch. The 27 MHz radio-frequency remote control has proportional throttle and trim settings that allow it to be precisely controlled through climbs, descents, and turns. Made from durable EPP foam, the aircraft's body withstands turbulent flights and crash landings. Pre-assembled and ready to fly, the device is powered by a rechargeable battery that recharges via the included AC adapter.
Growth in internal hiring at staffing firms has been gradually
decelerating over the last several years, paralleling changes in
industry growth, according to data from the Staffing Industry
Benchmarking Consortium. Internal staffing wage growth also moderated
over the same period.
Hiring boom moderating shows that growth in both
employees per office and total employees peaked around the latter part
of 2004 and has been steadily decelerating ever since. This makes
sense given decelerating industry expansion during the same period.
Staffing Industry Benchmarking Consortium
Robin Mee, founder and president of Mee Derby & Company, a staffing
firm that recruits for staffing companies, said she has noticed
increased number of layoffs in the industry in the past couple of
months.
