Papa Francisco
This book relates the vision of Pope Francis for the Catholic Church just as he has presented it in his homilies, speeches, and essays from his first year as Pontiff. This is the first publication authorized by the Vatican about the first Latin American pope’s ideas for the mission of Catholics in today’s world. His profound reflections remind us that the Church must leave its seclusion to jubilantly bring God’s mercy wherever there is suffering, separation, and injustice. According to Francis, this transformation requires us to become citizens of the world and to accept the evangelist mission to which God has invited us.

Octavio Paz
Put together by the author in 1989, this collection of poems is a broad and significant sample of the poetic work of Paz, an essential part of the Spanish language literature of today. The poems also group the poetry published between 1953 and 1987 written in exchange with other poets. Included in this edition is the speech the Nobel Prize in Literature 1990 gave as well as the toast he offered during the banquet in honor of that year's winners.

Jorge Domingo Cuadriello
What would have happened to Spain without the drain of human capital that occurred during and after the Civil War? The study of the life and work of the exiles—considered to be "Anti-Spain" by the victors—helps us to imagine an answer. In fact, as the historian Enrique Moradiellos has written, it took Spain a long time to recover from that "human hemorrhage",  that forced absence of minds and bodies. The recovery of the memory of the exiles—and of the Republic in exile—forms an important part of recent Spanish historiography. But among all the "exiles" that have been studied—to Europe, to Mexico, inside Spain herself—it is perhaps the exile to Cuba that has received the least attention. The publication of this book attempts to compensate for that neglect. Jorge Domingo Cuadriello dedicated fifteen years of research to the writing of this detailed and thorough study of the Republican exiles in Cuba.

Almudena Grandes
In a city of Madrid that has recently lived the civil war, surviving is an everyday hardship. Especially for Manolita, a young 18-year old whose father and stepmother have been incarcerated and her brother Antonio is in hiding in a tablao. She has to take care of her sister Isabel and the three youngest. Antonio comes up with a desperate idea to continue the resistance during the worst years of repression: to use a copying machine that no one knows how to operate to print the underground propaganda. And he intends to have his sister Manolita -Ms. "Don't count on me"- visit a prisoner that can give them the key to its use.
