Follett’s “World Without End” already a big hit in Spain
Spaniards seem to have special place in their hearts for British novelist Ken Follett. Some 1.5 million copies of his new novel “World Without End,” a sequel to the enormously popular “The Pillars of the Earth,” have been sold in less than six months in Spain, while another 300,000 copies of the book have been sold in Latin America.
According to polls conducted by the Federation of Publishers’ Guilds, “The Pillars of the Earth,” published in 1989, has been the most widely read novel by Spaniards in recent years, with six million copies sold. But sales of the sequel to that medieval thriller could easily surpass those figures.
