Huge turnout for ALA’s 2009 fair
The American Library Association’s annual
fair, held from July 9-15 in Chicago, was among the best attended in
recent years. The ALA 2009 event drew almost 30,000 people, a good sign
the publishing market once again is starting to pick up steam. America
Reads Spanish took part in the fair as in previous years and saw strong
demand for its free guide to books in Spanish for children and
adolescents. A total of 600 copies were handed out, proof of the
popularity of this initiative.

Cuarón is the brother of filmmaker Alfonso Cuarón,
