Manatees in the Springs
Every winter the Manatees retreat to the warm spring waters of
Florida
. These gentle beasts are not afraid of divers and will freely swim with us. The experience is exhilarating.
We’re going to be staying at the Port Hotel and
Marina
in
Crystal River
Florida
on the weekend of February 24th and 25th. The trip includes two nights in a beautiful room with a water view, boat charters on Saturday and Sunday and more fun than you can imagine.

is, according to Map Quest, 250 miles away or about a 4 hour drive. If you would like to car pool, give us a call.
This is a snorkeling trip. Scuba is not allowed with Manatees by state law. So invite your non-scuba diving friends. Bring the kids. The price is $189 per person with two to the room. Each additional person in the room will add only $95 for the complete trip. (Limit 4 to a room).
The water temperature is going to be hovering at 70°. Take a look at the link above. There is plenty to do there.

Wrecks and Dinner in the Keys
Let's do it again. Join us on our most popular trip to
Key Largo
. We will arrive at Capt. Slate’s Atlantis Dive Center at 11:30 AM to take care of the paperwork and organize the gear.
We’ll motor out to the Spiegel Grove. The wreck is going to be a totally new experience since it has been righted by one of the hurricanes last summer. The wreck was a great dive before but now it's even better. The top deck is at about 70 feet and three decks below is the cargo deck at 128 feet. The ship is over 500 feet long. What a blast.
The second dive will be on Nelson's Ledge. This dive is a reef dive and loaded with fish. Charter boats rarely go to Nelson's because it is at about 60' and has several ledges that roll off to over 100'. The Charter boats, when they go, are moored to the balls. Not Force-E divers. We will drift dive on Nelson's. When you go to the Keys, go first class. Go with Force-E.
February is a great time to dive the Keys. Since it is so dry, the visibility tends to be over 70’. Our trip will be on Sunday February 5th. The price is $65 per person including a barbeque chicken dinner with all the sides and desert. Dinner will be ready to serve when you arrive back to the dock. If you want something besides tea to drink, you’re welcome to bring it. Hot chocolate will be served between dives.
