Considering Your Grades
Can you believe that it is almost December!? Christmas break is fast arriving and most of you are preparing for another round of the ACT/SAT. That's great! Below are some things to keep in mind:
Most colleges, including Huntington, look at your eighth semester transcripts when determining academic scholarships so keep studying right up until the end. When it comes to taking the ACT or SAT, Huntington will take your highest composite test score. So if you take the exam and are not pleased with your first score, schedule to take it again and send us your scores! At Huntington, we do require students to take the writing section of the ACT/SAT for admission but not for our scholarship requirements at this time.
Some things to consider...
ACT
  • 5 total sections
  • 1 English, 1 Reading, 1 Math, 1 Science Reasoning and 1 Writing (optional).
  • We recommend that you take the writing section of the ACT so that you may be placed into the core English course. Please note that you must answer all of the questions on the ACT because scoring is based on the total number of questions asked. Read more at: http://www.act.org/
SAT
  • 9 total sections
  • 4 Math, 4 Critical Reading and 1 Writing.
  • The SAT test does not offer an optional writing section, it is simply included in the overall exam. Please note with this exam that scoring is based on the total number of questions answered. Read more at: http://www.collegeboard.com/splash/
