How to Approach a College Fair...
Last month we discussed some of the questions to ask yourself in order to prepare for an initial college search. This month we'll look at yet another step in your search - college fairs!
1. Obtain a list of attending colleges ahead of time, and target a few that you would
like to see.
3. Make Notes. If you have a long list of schools to visit make some distinguishing
notes about each.
4. Sign-up for information and get a business card. Students with computer
access may want to print up self stick address lables to save time filling out those info cards.
5. Talk over your findings with family. Bringing your parents to a college fair allows
you to divide and conquer. Give your parent half of your college search list and your
questions and then compare notes. Parents may even attend informational sessions
while you continue to look at the colleges.
6. Organize your information and request more! Decide which schools really stuck
out to you and request additional information.
7. Have Fun! Researching colleges can and should be a lot of fun. It's a huge decision to make, but make sure to enjoy the process at the same time.
