Did you feel a shift in the force?
The world is officially a different place - that's because major Internet service providers, home networking equipment manufacturers, and web companies around the world are coming together to permanently enable IPv6 for their products and services.
IPv6 uses 128-bit addresses opposed to IPv4 (the old system) that
used 32-bit addresses. Major service providers, including
Google, celebrated World IPv6 day on June 6 2012 by rolling out the technology. It means more address space for
all those smart phones and billions of other future devices that
will need connectivity as South Florida continues to play its part
in expanding the world of IT. More..
